Furness Music Centre

Furness Music Centre is a charity that provides opportunities for all people across the Furness area to play together in Orchestras and Chamber Groups and sing together in a Choir.  We are a community group who welcome everyone, whatever their age (our members range from 8 to 80+), whatever their ability (from complete beginners to people who have performed professionally) and whatever their ability to pay (we keep our fees as low as possible and can also offer free places if needed).

FMCjuniors enables primary-age children to learn an instrument and experience playing in an orchestra.  We currently offer lessons (in small groups) in flute, violin and clarinet, and we provide the instruments so the scheme is accessible to all families whatever their income. FMCjuniors also provides individual and group lessons in a number of primary schools across the Furness area, and we will look to increase this over the next few years.

Also, the FMCjuniors orchestra session  meets in The Muse, Dowdales School at 9.30 on Saturdays.  where children can take part in musical games and activities and also are supported to play their instruments in our Training Orchestra

Furness Music Centre rehearse every Saturday in term-time in The Muse, Dowdales School. You will need to contact us using the Contact Points page on this web site so that we can arrange for you get into the school grounds and The Muse, where we rehearse.
